Learning Goals

The information management and information system program will allow students to lay solid theoretical foundation on management, economics and computer science, get the hang of computer application, quantitative analysis, information system development and big data analysis, demonstrate both humanity and scientific principles, both practical and innovative abilities, and develop a global vision as highly competent and inter-disciplinary talents. Graduates will be ready to do work such as planning, building and operating information system, as well as developing and utilizing information and big data resources in Party and government organizations of all levels, businesses, financial institutions, management consultancies, and research institutions.

Java Programming, Data Structure, Database Principles and Application, Information System Management, Information Resources and Big Data Management, Object-Oriented Systems Analysis and Design, Computer Network, IT Project Management, Java Web Development, Introduction to Data Science, Python Data Analysis and Application, Big Data Analysis and Prediction Technology and others.

Features

The program is affiliated with Management Science and Engineering subject, which was rated first-class subject in 2016, the only management subject of the 32 first-class in Shandong Province. The major covers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs, backed by an integrated subject system.

The program enjoys finance and economics features of SDUFE and inter-disciplinary background itself, focuses on developing information system and analyzing financial and economic big data, and engages with provincial key laboratories specializing in information system and big data. In that way, the program is devoted to seeking outward cooperation, including working with Inspur Group to nurture inter-disciplinary talents fitting into new era.

Supported by SDUFE as a national base for practical education and innovation, the program emphasizes on improving practical abilities, combining academic teaching and startup training. This helps students win nearly 100 awards in national entrepreneurship competition and provincial competitions in software design, mathematical modeling, and electronic and information technology application.

The program pools high-end innovative talents by investing in “big data and business analysis” experimental class.

Career Prospects

Past students total 7000. In the recent 3 years, 36 graduates went for further education in worldly renowned universities including Columbia University, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Peking University, and Renmin University of China. A dozen of graduates were recruited by iconic IT enterprises like Alibaba, Baidu and Tencent. The information management and information system program of SDUFE is rated 5-star by cuaa.net. Students in the program will become information technology and economic management talents with in-demand skills. It is foreseeable that they have a bright future for advanced jobs.
