Logistics Management
Learning Goals
The logistics management program will allow students to lay solid theoretical foundation on management, economics, operational research, and information technology, get the hang of fundamental theory and methods of modern logistics and supply chain, and demonstrate competency for doing logistics and supply chain management jobs by using scientific management methods and modern information technology. They will become inter-disciplinary talents with global vision and in-demand skills for modern logistics. Graduates will be ready to take jobs such as logistics management system development, logistics operation, logistics business management, e-commerce logistics management, and supply chain financial management.

Program Features
Subject Background Advantage
The program is affiliated with Management Science and Engineering subject, which is among the first round of provincial first-class subjects, receives a B- in the fourth round of subject evaluation, and is tied for the first place in the subject among provincially-owned universities, the fifth among domestic universities of finance and economics. The subject includes postgraduate program majoring in logistics management and project, and doctoral program majoring in e-commerce and supply chain management, both of which are key programs backed by excellent subject background.
Inter-disciplinary Collaboration
Against the backdrop of fast-growing logistics information technology and e-commerce, the logistics management provincial special program collaborates with national special programs including information management and information system, and finance, as well as SDUFE’s key program e-commerce. By adopting “logistics plus information, logistics plus e-commerce, logistics plus finance”, the program respectively forms three focuses, namely logistics information management, e-commerce logistics management, and supply chain financial management.
Practical and Innovative Ability Feature
The program emphasizes on improving practical and innovative abilities by building a system featured by “course experiment, logistics training, and technology competition”, which is backed by national and provincial research and practice platforms, as well as the collaboration with businesses.
Career Prospects
In 2016-2018, 46 students were admitted into domestic universities for pursuing master’s degrees, and 10 went overseas for further education in worldly renowned universities. Among them, 24 students went to “985 project” or “211 project” universities including Beijing Jiaotong University and Dalian University of Technology. 2019 has seen 22 students entering domestic universities and 5 going for overseas universities. Specifically, 6 students in the same dorm room were all admitted into “985 project” or “211 project” universities.
The Belt and Road Initiative, growth driver shifting strategy, rural revitalization strategy and other major strategies are broad platforms for logistics to develop, and for students of logistics major to explore their careers. Many of SDUFE graduates of the logistics management program are now working for famous enterprises like Alibaba, JD.com, BlueSword, and Joyi. They have become leading talents in their industries, serving as logistics managers, logistics chief operating officers, and logistics planning directors. Employment rate of the program’s graduates reaches 98% every year.
