Learning Goals

Theproject management program will allow students to lay solid theoretical foundation on economics and management, get the hang of the theory, methods and techniques of project management, as well as laws and regulations in project management. In that way, they will form an integrated knowledge framework of economics, management, law and certain project techniques, and demonstrate vocational moralities and innovative spirit as high-quality inter-disciplinary talents. Graduates will be ready to do work such as whole process management, investment and financing decision-making, and feasibility study of projects in administrative departments for government investment advice, financial institutions such as banks, businesses and public institutions such as real estate companies, and domestic and overseas major projects.

Engineering Economics, Project Finance, Project Management, Introduction to Civil Engineering, Building Structure, Project Cost, Project Contract Management, Building Information Modeling Technology Application, Project Investment and Decision Making.

Program Features

The program enjoys finance and economics features of SDUFE and project technology research background of the school, aiming to build a curriculum system featuring “a platform of project technology, management, economics, and information”. It helps students cement subject basics while developing core abilities, thus achieving diversified goals.

The program values inter-disciplinary feature, combining the information technology research strength of the school and modern technologies of project management. It emphasizes practical and innovative abilities and try to train students by course experiment, comprehensive design, and social practice and service.

Career Prospects

China’s economy is growing fast with its implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, which has given rise to infrastructure investment. Recent years have seen major projects coming into service, such as Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway.China is right on its way of building even more projects domestically and participating in overseas projects., calling for more professional project managers.

Recent years has seen steady progress made in project management graduates quality, with a bunch of excellent students admitted into domestic and overseas famous universities for further study, including Johns Hopkins University, The University of Manchester, Tsinghua University, Ocean University of China, Beijing Jiaotong University, and Dongbei University of Finance and Economics. Others take seats in major SOEs such as China National Nuclear Corporation and China Railway Construction Corporation. Graduates are commended by their universities and employers. Besides, all students are encouraged to participate in various competitions and have won awards for multiple times in national competitions such as BIM application competition for college students, and project calculation competition, both supported by Glodon.
